We watch The Chosen via VidAngel.com on Chrome. Each episode has been viewed multiple times because each offers more insight. The stories present a realistic life-true description of the times, the peoples, apostles' concerns and disagreements, the interconnection between miracles and other events, lessons to be learned in a natural human learning cycle, Jesus dual role as God and human, etc. Basically, The Chosen is a Hubble telescope view into the Jesus time with us. I love The Chosen! I was in the middle of reading my Bible in chronological order and it just got to the New testament when I started watching The Chosen. It was the second time I had read through the New testament and this time it was all brand new because of The Chosen. I recently bought several copies of the DVD's for both seasons to give away to friends and family. I am so enthralled with the series I want others to enjoy it as well. The back stories of those who encountered Jesus are fictional, of course, but very plausible. They not only add to the entertainment of the story, but prepare us to better grasp the impact of the Gospel scenes when Jesus is encountered. The "touch points" with the scriptures are very true to the biblical accounts. Makes one want to reread the gospels with a greater appreciation for the story being told.
Often I am treated to a depiction of Jesus' life events which is at odds with my own imagination. The Sermon on the Mount is one such. I don't take offense, but enjoy the different perspective that the series portrays--knowing that my own image of the scene is simply my own as well. Love the humorous moments, especially the inside jokes for bible geeks, e.g. the disciple John evesdropping on Jesus and Nicodemus and taking notes!
I'm a Roman Catholic, and I have come up with new mysteries of the rosary, the Chosen Mysteries. They are 1) The exorcism of Mary Magdalene; 2) Jesus cures the paralytic lowered through the roof; 3) Jesus meets Nicodemus by night; 4) Jesus calls Matthew to be a disciple; 5) Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman at the well. There could have been several other choices. (But I had to pass over the miracle at Cana, since it has already been taken!) The judicial vicar at our diocese endorsed the idea of naming new mysteries since the rosary is a devotion (as opposed, I assume, to a defined liturgical service) wherein we meditate on gospel events.

WE bought the first season DVD and it had some scratches and formatting problems. A replacement was sent immediately to deal with the scratches. The formatting and not being able to see on our television screen seemed to be a problem that cannot be fixed on the first season DVD. The second season worked great so it must be fixed. Some of us still use good old-fashioned DVD players and televisions. We are grateful that THE CHOSEN is going world wide on the APP but we also want to remember those like us that are not as technologically savvy. GOD BLESS everyone! L and J from NH, USA

My husband and I had started watching The Chosen back in March of 2020. The reason we bought more DVDs of Season One was to give them as gifts to unsaved family members. A brother and his girlfriend have just finished Season One and are beginning Season Two! We also would visit our mother-in-law and her caregiver and watch the episodes together. My mother-in-law did not have internet so we could not watch it using the App which is a good reason for continuing to make future Seasons available on DVD. We are glad she was able to see these episodes before passing two months ago, shortly after Thanksgiving of 2021.

My son and his wife have not been able to get The Chosen app to cast to their TV. So I purchased these DVDs so they would have no excuse for not watching them! While caring for my 91 year old mother with covid, I received my first season of The Chosen. We were so excited to watch it together. The first one was a little slow, but they got better with each video. We watch two shows at night with my husband, sitting by the fireplace, and then my mom and I discuss them the next day at length. What a wonderful time to share our thoughts & love for the Lord by means of this series! We are enjoying the various personalities, and the quirks of the disciples, while seeing our own flaws in them. I will never forget this precious time together watching this series. And we are telling everyone to get it and watch it!

I recently wore my Chosen fishes shirt to a hospital to visit a friend. A nurse stopped me in the cafeteria to say she liked my Chosen shirt. I had on a Chosen bracelet & gave it to her. She was so excited she told her next couple of patients about the show! God uses the "gifts" to start conversations, so buy extra to give out!
