I cannot tell you how many times I've watched all 3 seasons either on Prime or the app but I decided to purchase the special edition Dvd's of all 3 seasons. I'm so glad I did. I just finished all the extras for Season 1 and seeing both the commentary and the biblical (and funny) comments throughout I've picked up things I've missed and pulled my Bible out to check referenced scripture. Even if you have watched all the seasons I encourage you to get the special edition for the bonus features!
I have watched the chosen more times than I can tell you. Now that I have purchased the box set I get to see see more behind the scenes and commentaries. I love it. So anxious for season 4 to be released.

I am blown away, at the many choices and extra features that the Blu-Ray discs offer. For instance, there are 4 ways that you can watch each episode: 1) the normal way ( that everyone is familiar with); 2) watching the episode in the background while Dallas & the co-writers explain various aspects of the choices they may have made to create the episode as we now see it; 3) the episode plays, with subtitled information about 1st century culture or contexts that might be helpful to understand the scene; and 4) the episode plays, with only the musical score being audible. There are other extras, included.
